Big Litter Pick

Join us for the annual Big Litter Pick on Saturday 17th October.

All equipment - pickers, bags and high-vis vests - are provided.

Plus free soft drinks, chai and snacks.

Our goal is to clear the whole park of every last bit of litter - please come along and join the challenge!

Crocus Wood

Regular visitors to the park may have noticed the amazing transformation of the woodland area next to the allotments.

Using a grant from the Croydon Greenspace Fund, and 169 hours of volunteer labour we have coppiced the area, pruned the neglected trees and make new trails through the wood.

Not only is this good for the health of the wood and environment, it is has also improved the safety of this area for park users.

Our huge thanks to all those who worked so hard on this project.

AGM

Our AGM will be held on Monday 15th June at 7pm.

This year we have decided to hold the meeting in the park, near the Heatherset Gardens entrance. 

There will be free refreshments and an opportunity to hear all the good things that the Friends have achieved in the last year.

If you are able, please bring a chair!

New Path

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Friends of Norbury Park and their dedicated Action Plan, Croydon Council has completed the construction of a brand-new path running through the heart of the park.

Designed to be wide enough for Council vehicles, the new pathway is also expected to offer park-goers a much-needed dry and accessible route during the wet winter months.



The path was officially opened on 16th July 2025 by Croydon’s Executive Mayor, Jason Perry, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that marked a significant step forward for the park’s future.

Cricket Pitch

In a deeply disappointing act of vandalism, our much-loved cricket pitch was badly damaged overnight on 18–19 August 2025.

If anyone has information about who was responsible, please do get in touch.

The good news is that the Council has since repaired the pitch — and it was a big job! Huge thanks to Croydon Council and Mayor Jason Perry for their swift and supportive response.
